Summer is here and its the time of year where every serious hockey player focuses on there individual skills in order to improve/prepare and get better for the upcoming fall/winter season.

Capital Hockey will be running an Elite/High Performance Off Season Summer Training skates/camps on the following weeks:

July 4-7   (4days) tue-fri
Ice times: 10:15-11:45am
3:15-4:45pm

July 10-13  (4days) mon-thur
Ice times:  10:15-11:45am
3:15-4:45pm

July 17-20  (4days) mon-thur
Ice times:  9:30-11am
3:00-4:30pm

July 24-27  (4days) mon-thurs
Ice times:  10:15-11:45am
3:15-4:45pm

July 31-Aug 3  (4days) mon-thurs
Ice times:  10:15-11:45am
3:15-4:45pm

Aug 8-10  (3days)  tue-thur
*daily two hr skates only*
12:30-2:30pm.
$90 per skate.

Aug 14-17  (4days)  mon-thur
*daily two hr skates only*
10:15am-12:15pm.
$90 per skate

All Camps will be held at:  Powerade Centre

For players attending the full day, camp runs from 9:15 to 5pm. Players will need to arrive by 9:15am to sign in and picked up by 4:45/5pm.

Players will be put through a number of high tempo, high intensity drills where they will be challenged both physically and mentally in a demanding but fun environment.

On the ice players will work on and be corrected on the following skills:
•Power skating-acceleration
•Edge work (Inside/outside edge)
•Stride Mechanics
•Transition skating. (Fwd-backwards)
•Crossovers with speed(forward and backwards)
•Quick feet, Balance and Agility.
•Puck skills (stick handling/passing)
•Shooting skills and technique (wrist shots, back hand, slap shots, one timers)

Players will also be challenged in game situational drills and battle drills with players of there age and ability.

While Off ice players will be put through dry land training and fitness testing as well as a fun off ice activity (ballhockey/soccer).

The dry land training run by our off ice athletic trainers will consist of plyometric, speed/agility, body weight exercises, sprinting, long distance running, endurance training.  All important to improve on ice performance.

Ages 8-15
Skill level AAA,AA, players only.

Head Instructors:

Andrew Kalapaca

Assistant Instructors will be there as well.
All instructors have
Jr.A, O.H.L, NCAA, Professional playing experience.

Cost for the camp is as follows:

Goalies are welcome to attend on ice session for some extra shots and ice time for $25 per session.
*(Families with 2 or more immediate family members attending will receive a family rate discount)

All players are to bring there own lunch/drinks/snacks and water bottle.   As well as running shoes.

With AAA and AA tryouts now over Capital Hockey weekly drop in Elite Skating and Skills training sessions start up again beginning this week:

Mondays – 4:15 – 5:15pm at Pavilion-Everest Ice.
And
Tuesdays – 5:15 – 6:15pm at Powerade Center.

Ages: 2009’s to 2002
AAA/AA players only

Cost: $40 for players
$10 for goalies

Great way for players to continue to stay sharp for spring hockey and continue to develop there skill set.
